We’re obsessed with the whole Enluva range and the Enluva wool inner gloves are insanely warm.

Designed to be worn with drysuit dry gloves, they keep your pinkies toasty but without the bulk. They still allow your fingers to be incredibly flexible so kiss goodbye to sausage fingers preventing you from undoing your bolt snaps!

Enluva also make silk glove liners to wear underneath when the temperature drops.

I’ve been diving the Enluva wool inner gloves all year. They’re great underneath my drysuit dry gloves, they’re sooo warm! When the water starts getting extra nippy, I pair them with some silk glove liners.

I do have one word of warning about them though… While I think they are FANTASTIC, I want you to know that they might shrink if they get wet.

I know, I know – who makes a piece of scuba gear from a material that shrinks if it gets wet?!

I promise that the performance of these gloves is well worth the risk of shrinking.

HOW TO CARE FOR ENLUVA WOOL INNER GLOVES

There are no official aftercare instructions for the Enluva wool inner gloves, but through a bit of trial and error, our advice is to:

Hand-wash in lukewarm water using a soft wool washing detergent like Woolite (we’re sure other brands exist too!)
Remove excess water by gently wringing out the gloves by hand
Let them dry slowly on a towel laid on a flat surface
As the gloves start to dry, keep putting them on to help reshape them (just be careful not to pull and stretch too much, Jim ripped his once by being too rough!)

When the wool gloves get wet, the fibres lose their structure, and during the drying process, the fibres start contracting and interlock back together. This effect causes shrinkage.

It can be corrected slightly if the gloves are stretched during the drying process to “force” the fibres into the desired position.

Depending on the knitting pattern and material thickness, the shrinking effect is bigger in some parts of the glove than in others.

The Enluva wool inner glove is a very high-quality glove that was specially developed as an underlayer for dry diving glove systems.

The good fit in connection with the seamless knitting process ensures an excellent sense of touch, as there are no protruding and bulging seams in the way.

Since it is particularly important when diving in cold water to still have enough flexibilty in your fingers (for example to operate bolt snaps), the enluva wool inner glove is perfect for the task.
