Apeks Ocea Regulator

From: £792.00 A+ Eco-Rating

If you’re an eco-diver, the Apeks Ocea Regulator will be top of your scuba diving gear wish list.

Crafted from recycled materials and bio-plastics, it’s ocean-positive, removing five times its weight in plastic from the environment.

We love it because on top of being ocean-friendly, it’s super lightweight and compact making it ideal for travel. We’ve also found it perfect for smaller divers, offering top-notch comfort – it’s dinky size reduces jaw fatigue.

Technically, the Apeks Ocea reg is only supplied with a first stage, second stage, octo and hoses. It doesn’t come with gauges or inflator hoses – you can add them below to build a complete reg.

You can customise your new reg using the options below. If you have specific requirements for hose lengths, colours etc that aren’t listed here – get in touch and Jim will sort everything out for you.

Co-Founder

I LOOOVE the Apeks Ocea Reg. It’s the perfect size for me – I find most other regs are too big/heavy and end up giving me jaw ache.

The fact that it’s made from recycled materials in a solar-powered factory just proves that with a bit of effort, scuba gear can move towards being more sustainable! Well done Apeks!

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Your Apeks Ocea regulator is supplied in a free reg bag (a present from us ?) with:

  • An Apeks Ocea first stage in your chosen colour
  • An Apeks Ocea primary second stage in your chosen colour
  • An Apeks Ocea yellow backup second stage
  • 2 Regulator hoses (for your primary and backup)

It does not come with:

  • A gauge
  • A BCD inflator hose
  • A drysuit inflator hose
  • Any clips
  • A long hose upgrade

That’s why we’ve added these as optional extras so you can actually build a functional regulator – we have no idea why Apeks sell them like this?!

If you’re after any further customisations like specific hose lengths, particular first stage port set ups, or a different configuration for sidemount, twinsets or stages, just let Jim know and he will sort it out for you.

JIM WILL ASSEMBLE YOUR APEKS OCEA REG FOR YOU

Did you know that your Apeks Ocea regulator needs to be assembled?!

It just comes as a box full of parts – but don’t worry, The Reg Doctor will take care of you (unless you want to put it together yourself of course ?)

Jim will assemble your brand new reg with all the add-ons and extras you have chosen. If you have a certain set-up in mind, and want your hoses routed in a particular way, just let him know.

Once assembled, he’ll put your new Apeks Ocea regulator on his testing bench and make sure it’s all tuned perfectly.

It’ll arrive on your doorstep ready to hit the water!

SHOULD I UPGRADE MY OCEA TO A LONG HOSE SET UP?

We absolutely love diving in a long hose set-up. If you’d like Jim to set up your Apeks Ocea Regulator in long hose configuration, he will:

  • Add a 2.1m long hose to your primary second stage
  • Add a bungee necklace to your backup second stage
  • Attach a clipping off bolt snap to your long hose to allow you to stow it when walking around on land

DOES MY APEKS OCEA REGULATOR NEED SERVICING?

You should get your Apeks Ocea regulator serviced by an authorised dealer annually, regardless of usage. And if you’re using your Ocea reg as a pro or in a school fleet, you should overhaul it every 3-6 months or after 50 hours of use. (Chlorinated pool water is particularly damaging!)

Don’t assume your reg is in good working order just because it hasn’t been used much since its last service. Prolonged or improper storage can cause internal corrosion and O-ring seal deterioration so it really is best to get it seen every year.

Need a regulator service? Send it in to The Reg Doctor! Jim will take care of it for you.

Important: Never disassemble or service your regulator yourself, as it voids the Apeks warranty and can cause malfunctions. Always use an authorized dealer.
